关于会议About the Conference

民生智慧之“民”指人类、百姓，“生”即生存、生计；智慧为分析、判断、创造、思考的能力。民生智慧是人们为了改良生活品质、提高生产效率，通过设计介入提出的一系列解决问题的方法、措施和行动。习近平总书记强调要“问计于民”，问的是“计”，求的是“行”，其本质是一种“以问题为导向”的认识论。

移动互联、5G技术等科技的快速发展，正在重塑我们的生活，如何应对科技带来的变革，如何定义未来的设计，如何解决设计的新问题，亟待探讨；一流学科、一流专业和新文科建设的背景下，如何推动设计教育现代化，实现高等设计教育内涵式发展，是未来设计教育需要思考的重点；全球化的发展、新冠疫情的爆发，再次提醒我们关注未来的设计文化、设计生态等诸多设计问题。

为此，江南大学设计学院在前两轮国际会议“设计教育再设计”和“为转型而设计”系列研讨和对话的基础上，于2020年11月19日-21日举办第一届“民生智慧·设计未来”学术会议。会议共分三个板块：主论坛、平行分论坛和平行工作坊，邀请国内外知名设计院校、设计行业同仁共同研讨新时代背景下的设计问题解决、设计学科建设、设计文化认同、设计生态平衡等重要话题。

2020年正值江南大学设计学院建院60周年，在一个甲子之际，我们希望与国内外专家学者共同探讨民生智慧，展望设计未来。

Livelihood wisdom refers to the people, their survival and livelihood, while wisdom refers to the ability to analyze, judge, create, and think. People's livelihood wisdom refers to a series of methods, measures and actions that people put forward through design intervention in order to improve the quality of life and increase production efficiency.PresidentXi Jinping emphasized the need to "collect thewisdom from the people", what iscollected is the "wisdom", what isstressed is the "action",andits essence is a "problem-oriented" epistemology.

The rapid development of technology such as mobile internet and 5G is greatly reshaping our lives, hence, it is of urgent need to discuss on how tocope withtechnological changes, how to define future design, and how to solveemerging problemswith design. In view of the requirements for first-class disciplines, first-class majors and new liberal arts disciplinary construction, it is the focus of future design education on how to promote the modernization of design educationin order torealize the connotative development of higher design education.In the meantime,themomentum of globalization and the outbreak of the new corona virus pandemic have reminded us once again to pay attention to future design culture and design ecology.

Therefore, based on the previous discussions and dialogues during the past two rounds of international conferences on " Redesign Design Education " and "Design for Transition", School of Design of Jiangnan University is initiating a new round of the International Conference on "Livelihood Wisdom and Design Future" on November 19th-21st, 2020. The conference will be composed with1 open forum, 7 parallelthematic forums and 8 parallel workshops, inviting experts and colleagues from domestic and international universities and design industries to discuss topics on design problem solving, design discipline construction, design cultural identity, and design ecological balance under the background of the new era.

The year of 2020 celebrate the 60^th anniversary of School of Design at Jiangnan University, and we would like to take this chance to discuss with experts from all over the world the livelihood wisdom and the design future.
